Weʼre raising £4,000 to help fund projects in Palestine - nurse training, education, special needs. Come and enjoy our fund-raising Palfest in Hanwell in November.
- Hanwell, London
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Palestine needs a lot more nurses and midwives. Many young women and men aspire to train for 4 or 5 years but sometimes haven't the funds to start or finish their courses. Many have to interrupt their studies while the families try and find ways of finding the money for course fees. Unemployment is high and often families just cannot afford higher education for all their children - although education is a top priority for Palestinian society. Please help us support them.
In Gaza medical supplies are diminishing as every day passes. The clock is ticking …….
Summer holidays in Palestine are long … and hot. We would like to arrange outings for children and young people particularly those with special educational needs and their families and carers.
Why we want to have a festival. Why we want to fundraise.
Want to know more about Palestine? Want to hear Palestinians speak for themselves? Want to help fund educational, medical, social and cultural projects in Sabastiya, Nablus, Bethlehem and Gaza? If so, support us – and come along to our Palfest!
Hanwell Friends of Sabastiya, HAFSA, cordially invites you. Programme to follow soon.
Who we are:
Our group, Hanwell Friends of Sabastiya, has been going for 8 years. Sabastiya is an ancient town just north of Nablus in the West Bank with a population of some 3000. We visit every year and feel it is important for more people to know more about life in Palestine and enjoy the benefits that a friendship group offers. We feel very privileged to have this people-to-people link over there.
Our Festival - every Friday in November 2018
Our festival, will take place on each Friday evening in November in Hanwell (in the London Borough of Ealing). It will showcase various aspects of daily life in Palestine - arts and culture and history; Palestine through the lens of the media; how to visit Palestine. Through this, you will without doubt get to know more about this beautiful, rich and historical area – but most importantly its people.
A special guest:
We are pleased to be inviting our good friend and HAFSA committee member from Sabastiya Abu Yasser, who will be here for some of the festival. Come and meet him and hear him speak.
Projects: HAFSA fundraises all year round to support the community in Sabastiya in various ways and this Palfest is part of our fundraising efforts. See our website:
Supporting other groups:
We are delighted to donate a percentage of the proceeds of funds raised through justgiving to two groups whose work we much admire: Amos and Friends of Nablus and Surrounding Areas. Each will receive 25%.
