    Story

So here's the story. Ti and Cathryn are 2 of a group of 7 housemates from uni.
20 years later we are so very lucky to all still be the best of friends and rely so heavily on each other to get through this weird old thing called life.

One of group, Jen, has a lovely daughter, Florence, who turned 3 on 31st January.

Florence has recently been diagnosed with a devastating condition called gangliosidosis GM1.
This hideous disease will slowly take away her abilty to walk, talk, swallow and will take her from us far far far too soon.

So.... We (Ti & Cathryn) have made a promise to Florence, that for the WHOLE month of April, we will wear fancy dress for her. Everywhere we go. All day. Every day. And if we can find fancy dress pyjamas, all night too.

We want to raise so so much money to help make memories for Florence and her brother Ricardo whilst Florence is well enough to enjoy them, to help make her house fit for the princess she is, to pay for all of Florence's doctors to give her the very best treatment, and to try and send her to America to take part in the cure GM1 trials.

We will wear pretty much anything for the right price (excluding extreme lycra and bikinis) 😳

    We need your help.
Please send us your outfits. We need 30!
And we don't want to spend any money on them. We want every penny to go to Florence.

Please donate now, and maybe after seeing how ridiculous our month of April will be, you may feel compelled to donate a teeny bit more.

We will be extremely grateful for the smallest donations. It really does mean that Jen's journey can be so different to the one she faces without this support.

Thank you times a million x

      Update from the Page owner

Our very last update and thank you. Through our Just Giving page alone we've raised £10,007.80. (Ridiculous really, especially when you consider that our initial goal was £500!) Our Just Giving page is now closed, but we're still receiving kind donations from warm hearted people. Big love y'all. x

Well then, we're 15 days pfd (post fancy dress!) and have recovered enough to begin to reminisce. We've done the final count up, and you crazy bunch have donated £16,041.67 overall! Right now Jen doesn't need the money, but at some point these pennies will help get Florence a kick-ass wheelchair, medical help such as physiotherapy, holistic treatments and equipment to help her. Until that time we've earmarked a teeny bit of cash to spend on playthings for the garden for Florence & Ricardo to enjoy this year. Thank you so much. x

We hit our £4000 target this morning - £4000, can you actually believe that you lot have helped us raise that amount of money, simply by laughing at us in fancy dress? We can't quite get our heads around it. We're at the halfway point, and so many people have told us to up our target to £5000. This scares us for a number of reasons: 1. What if we seem greedy and ungrateful 2. What if we don't hit it But, we figure, if you're going to do it, go large! So here's hoping we can hit our new target. Please keep sharing our story. Big love! ❤️

Our first week is done, and what a week it's been! The response has been mind-blowing and the generosity shown by people (many of whom have never met Jenny or Florence) has been humbling. We started this quest at the end of January with a genuine aim of raising £500, and the thought of that amount of money made us so happy. It's almost incomprehensible that we're within touching distance of £3500. We're raising our target slightly, to keep the pressure on us to maintain the momentum. Thank you to all of you for support. Peace out!

This story made me so sad for Florence & her family but also smile that she had such lovely friends doing this amazing thing for her. Hope that she makes it to America and the trials can cure her xx
