Hey guys!

I’m Funmilayo! recently graduated from the University of Kent with a 2:1 in Computing and Business whoop whoop.

A passion of mine has been volunteering. I have volunteered for projects in the past e.g. Positive East, Body and Soul and the 'Big Red Box'), nevertheless I have always wanted to volunteer abroad from a young age, however I would generally come up with one excuse or the other as to why I couldn’t or shouldn’t go. After graduating, I made a conscious promise to myself that I would achieve the goals I set for myself- Volunteering abroad being one of them!

At MAC, there are various HIV and AIDs awareness campaigns which I found really intriguing, which led me to research a lot more to determine if this was an initiative I wanted to get involved with. After contacting International Volunteer HQ, they informed me of multiple charitable initiatives abroad I could participate in. I was immediately drawn to projects involving HIV and AIDs Support as well as Women’s Education in Uganda. After further research, I felt the Uganda initiative will be the best way for me to give back.

I need to raise £1,200 by February 2017. This will cover the cost of:

- The admin fee
- The flights
- The cost of the programme

Any amount donated would be much appreciated! I’m hoping you can share in my passion to visit Uganda by volunteering my time to impact the lives of others.
