Story

Funskate is back after a fantastic first year in 2021! We were able to fundraise £2079 to support the incredible work of St George’s Hospital Charity in their response to Covid and looking after hospital staff.

We are so excited to announce that the London Skater Marathon is back with 2 fabulous events in 2022. Fun Skate on Saturday 30th July and an extra special event coming in October too (keep your eyes on our socials or if you can’t wait email info@londonskatersmarathon.com)

Funskate 2022 is an event for everyone, and we are skating to support our NHS heroes. They worked so hard during the pandemic and continue to do so every single day. We will be splitting your fundraising between SGHC and 2 other brilliant charities:

Rolladome Charity – Rolladome celebrates skate culture by providing enjoyable and affordable classes and clubs for all. The charity seeks to positively impact the lives of young people and their families through a healthy lifestyle, teaching new skills and encouraging continual personal development to support a strong sense of inner well-being.

Visit their website: www.rolladome.org.uk

Wheels & Wheelchairs Charity – This charity is made up of both wheelchair users and skaters who enjoy the sensory rush of speed and collaboration in accessible sport. Wheelchair users are pushed by skaters regularly at their Street Stroll events in and around London and occasionally further afield in new and exhilarating skating adventures.

Visit their website: www.wheelsandwheelchairs.co.uk

The fundraising breakdown from FunSkate 2022 will be divide with 80% of total income going to St George’s Hospital charity and 10% each to Rolladome and Wheels and Wheelchairs Charity. If you would like more information about how we are splitting this income please contact info@londonskatersmarathon.com
