Meet Maven Hamilton - A 10 year old on a Mighty Mission!

Hi! I'm Maven, and I have been growing my hair for almost 2 years so that it can reach 20 inches so I can donate it to Little Princess' Trust! I am currently at 19 inches and have my date set for 19th April 2025 to cut it all off!

I had a bit of name-calling when I first started to cut my hair and it was not the easiest to look after, but I knew that it would be worth it to complete my mission!

As a young entrepreneur who believes in making a difference, I have used my entrepreneur skills to create a double-impact campaign to help families affected by cancer, as well as to donate money and hair to Little Princess' Trust.

This all started when I was younger and volunteered with a local charity to hand out Christmas presents on Christmas day to children who had to spend the day at the hospital and hospice.

This, combined with losing my best friend during Covid-19 when he was only 7 years old made me think about what I could do to help others.

When I went to hand out presents again that year, I spoke to a little girl who had no hair and asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She said 'hair again', and I decided to grow my hair for her to have for the next Christmas. When I went to see her the next Christmas, she was looking happier and had a short wig on and didn't really recognise me with long hair! I told her that I grew it for her and she asked if it could be longer, like my sister's. I have now been growing it for almost 2 years and when I went to see her at Christmas again in 2024, she really liked my hair - and she remembered me!

I learned about how wigs are made with Little Princess' Trust and have decided to raise money for them to support their great work, and donate my hair to them to get the wig made.

To raise awareness, my sisters and I partnered up with Pasithea Stays who have kindly agreed to support us by offering a free night stay to a family who has been through a rough time lately, and truly deserve a break. The house can sleep up to 14 people, has a games/dining room and a hot tub!! We stayed there and had a great time!
