I've raised £2000 to visit Russia to research a unique student-centred institution based on love and respect, aiming to introduce the approach to the UK.

Story

As most of you know I am very passionate about empowering children, as we all know conventional school is not suitable for all children. Also, as some of you know, it is my goal to set up Learning Centres throughout the world where children learn through their passion. See My dream for children. Through my research I have found an amazing school that, is based on the principle that every child is born a genius, with an emphasis on: co-creation; harmony; oneness; beauty; nature; serving others; martial arts and the love of their heritage. This school is the Lycee Kin School in Tekos in Russia.

Here are what some of the reviews are saying:

“The pupils cover the whole 11-year curriculum of the compulsory school system in just two years, having designed, built and decorated their campus all by themselves. A ten-year-old girl, for example, can build a house, draw beautifully, cook meals, dance ballroom dance steps and master the fundamentals of Russian martial arts.”

They [the students] learn sitting around tables of five or six learners, the older ones re-wrote the text to make it easier to learn, and everybody teaches as well as learns. You see, this is a place of love, they feel totally safe here, they study one or two subject until they learn five or six years of knowledge. There are no bells telling them to stop learning one subject, no homework given, they just love learning. They help each other, all the time. Learning and then teaching.

Young people are genius until we education them to be less than genius. This multifunctional school is not “knowledge-know-how-habits”, but rather to raise learners to live harmoniously with society, to perceive the world as a united whole. In regular schools we notice how our once attentive, wide-eyed pupils seem to fall away from us.

It is my passion to visit this school to see for myself how it works and how it’s approach can be implemented here in the UK. I am in the process of contacting the school to see if I can volunteer there during August.

For me to be able to achieve this I need to get funding to pay for the visit and cover expenses. I am therefore asking for donations for me to stay in Russia and achieve this goal for the good of the future students of the United Kingdom and eventually for the good of children world-wide.
