I've raised £1000 to support local Civil Engineering, Plant Hire and Development company the Walters Group raise funds for charity partner Velindre Cancer Centre

What are we doing?
We are walking the equivalent distance of the combined ascents and descents of 5 British mountain peaks; Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pike, Snowdon, Cadyr Idris, Pen y fan, and the travel distance between them during the month of May. Leaving our pitch on 1st May and covering a total distance of 1800Km. This will be undertaken by the players, coaches, parents, grandparents, guardians and siblings of the Gadlys Rovers Juniors Under 13 age group. Each participant will log their kilometres on a GPS tracking app to be totalled up towards the target of 1852.6Km.
Why are we doing it?
Local Civil Engineering, Plant Hire & Development company the Walters Group are undertaking the challenge of climbing Pen Y fan 52 times in 52 weeks raising funds for their charity partner Velindre Cancer Centre. Our own U13’s were very fortunate to receive match day kits, training kits and equipment from Pennant Walters (a Walters Group Company) via the Mynydd Bwllfa community fund. GRJ want to support and contribute to the Walters Group challenge and great cause by raising a cash donation from undertaking our own challenge which will incorporate one of the 52 Pen y Fan climbs – business and local communities working together to help beat cancer.
How can I get involved?
All donations are greatly received and will go direct to Velindre via the Walters Group. Please share our challenge via family, friends, work colleagues, business contacts, celebrities, twitter, facebook etc etc and direct donations towards our just giving page:
