the 21st December 2017 I was delightfully informed by the British Triathlon Organisation that I have qualified for the 2018 Ibiza Aquathlon European Championships, this is to take place on 24th October 2018 in San Antonio Ibiza, it is a Team GB Age-Group Race and I will be racing for a medal!!!!!

The Aquathlon Race consists of a 1K Swim followed by a 5K run.

The 2017 season I competed in 5 Aquathlons and another 5 Triathlons at various distances finishing 1st in my age group on 6 occasions and 2nd on another!

I am dedicated to achieving the best result I can in Ibiza... so only a short time now before the new season is underway so my training regime is now in full swing leading upto the race! I am a member of my local Leisure Centre and use their facilities to do my swimming training which is at least 3 times a week, I've also swam all through the winter at a local Lake in very low temperatures the lowest being 1.7 degrees, this builds great physical and mental training, my other training regime consists of spinning sessions through the winter with the dark nights, I also attend lots of other classes to build my strength with weight training and stamina, and of course pounding the streets with my running and cross country races which gives me all round fitness in order to acheive my dream goals!

In June this year I entered the Triathlon England National Aquathlon Championships in Ferry Meadow and so happy to say I won a Bronze Medal, its worth all the hard training when you finally get a podium finish!

In order for me to participate in this Race I will need to fund everything myself which is proving a costly affair, lots to sort out including Flights, Hotels, Race Cost, Insurances and all this before the GB kit itself so I’ve put some costings together to give an idea!
