Story
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOW CLOSED FOR ANYMORE CONSULTATIONS IN MAY. WE HAVE REACHED CAPACITY.
Galen Myotherapy is a unique form of hands-on muscle treatment for dogs suffering arthritis, musculoskeletal issues, chronic and underlying pain. The treatment was developed by canine expert Julia Robertson, who has a background in veterinary nursing and farming, who set up the Galen Therapy Centre in Bolney, West Sussex in 2002.
Since then she has treated thousands of dogs improving the quality and quantity of their lives, set up her own network of Galen myotherapists who work across the UK and established her own diploma in Galen Myotherapy - giving vets, vet nurses, dog trainers, canine professionals and enthusiasts the chance to learn the techniques of Galen Myotherapy.
Julia has also taken her pioneering treatment abroad and is an in-demand speaker across the globe. In May 2017 she and some of her team are going to India to train vet Suranjana Ganguly and dog trainer Sindhoor Pangal in Galen Myotherapy. Julia will be teaching them her diploma course free of charge so they can use this pioneering treatment to help dogs suffering in their communities, and go on to share the treatment's techniques with fellow canine professionals, to help spread Galen Myotherapy's reach across India.
Julia and her team will also be offering workshops to dog owners to help them understand more about their dogs' natural movement so they can help them live pain-free lives, and look for signs that they could be suffering from an underlying condition. They will also be following Indian street dogs and hope to undertake a study of the stray dogs'
