Story

Education is arguably one of the most important factors in a person attaining the knowledge they require to achieve their professional employment prospects and should if desired be accessed by all. In Jamaica, and across the Caribbean, there is unequal access to quality education.

Tertiary education is not accessible for hundreds of underprivileged children because they do not have the funds to pay for the tuition fees.

A recent 2017 study undertaken by the Caribbean Policy Research Institute determined the extent of the cost barrier to accessing and attaining a tertiary education in Jamaica. The main costs incurred relating to the course fees, accommodation, transportation, and social costs.

Our mission is to increase access and enrolment to undergraduate courses in the Caribbean amongst underprivileged children by assisting with tuition fees and living costs. Initially the foundation will focus on the island of Jamaica.

Our scholarships will make a huge difference to the students’ lives. In essence, receiving a scholarship from The xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Foundation will give the student a chance to attend university or college by having their tuition fees paid, gaining assistance with their living costs, or both. This will allow them to learn and receive an education, which they would not have been able to attain on their own.

Our vision is to see underprivileged students in the Caribbean rise out of poverty by graduating from university and securing their desired employment, through the financial support and generosity received from the donations made to the foundation.
