As students of a Team Entrepreneur course at the University of the West of England, we were moved to action by the poverty and lack of resources in Gambia. George, one of our team members, visited the country last summer and stayed in touch with friends there. Through his connections, we were able to identify Sotokoi Lower Basic School as a community in need of support. Our first project aims to provide sports equipment such as footballs, goals, skipping ropes, volleyball nets, and rounders to the school's 560 children. As a kickstart to our fundraising, George will be running a 30-mile ultramarathon race on 10 days notice. With a goal of raising £300 from the run, it takes place on the 4th of March.
