Story

At Ganymede the Infrastructure team love a challenge and even more so when it’s for a great cause! That’s why we’re taking on not one, but two fundraising events to make a difference:

A Marathon Relay AND a Bake Off – because what better way to raise money than by sweating and sweetening things up?

On Friday 14th November 2025, the Ganymede Infrastructure & Rail team will be taking on a Marathon Relay at Doncaster Lakeside — 42.2km in one session, and what’s more..… we’ll be doing it in fancy dress!

Here’s your line-up:

· Brad Minns – running as a Quantity Surveyor

· Chris James – causing chaos as a traffic cone

· Jordan Lee – full client-branded PPE (you’ll have to wait and see which one!)

· Tom Cleverley – the Ganymede Railway Man, fuelled by oranges

We’re doing this to raise money for two charities that are close to our heart and have had a huge impact on us!

Bennerley Fields School is a special needs school in Derbyshire that supports young people with learning difficulties, autism and complex needs. They create such a nurturing environment and help kids develop in ways that are completely tailored to them. https://www.bennerleyfields.derbyshire.sch.uk/

CJ’s Story: Prior to my son starting at Bennerley Fields, he was unable to speak, read or write. Over his years there the progress in him has been phenomenal and he is now able do all of the above. This is in the large part, down to the fantastic teachers, staff, and students at the school that have provided him with the upmost level of support. They are constantly fundraising for new resources to support the students, so it will be great to be able to give something back!

The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) supports children and babies born with congenital heart defects across Yorkshire and beyond. They help fund equipment, provide accommodation for families, and offer real emotional and practical support when people need it most. https://chsf.org.uk/

Brad’s Story: Last year my little boy, Roman, had open heart surgery due to a birth defect. It was without doubt the hardest thing we’ve ever been through. During that time, CHSF were unbelievable. They were there every step of the way – not just for us, but for so many families in the same position. They make such a difference to people’s lives, and it’s a charity that will always mean the world to me.

In December we’ll be downing tools for The Great Ganymede Bake Off, but first up is The Great Ganymede Run! Every mile we run is for these two brilliant causes and the children and families they support so if you can spare anything at all, it would mean the world and remember….every penny counts!

Thank you in advance for your support! Brad, Chris, Jordan, Tom, and Ganymede’s Infrastructure & Rail Team
