Tiffers The Bus Shelter Ipswich is a community interest company which has been set up to end the need for anyone to sleep rough in Ipswich.

The amount of funds we are raising is to ensure that the service can provide the full support it needs for a year. £18,000 for a year may sound a lot but it really isn't when you back it down:

£18000 per year divided by 14 = £1,286 per Guest per year. Now divide that by 12 months ?????? Yes that's right, it works out that we can give 24/7 support to a rough sleeper for as little as £107 per month !!!!

If you can find me a place called home for a rough sleeper to begin to rebuild their lifes for less than £107 per month, bills and food included then i'll remove this page !!!!!

We believe that if people have their basic needs of sleep, food, water, warmth and safety met they will be able to work positively on achieving their goals and improving their future.

The bus will be based around Ipswich but ideally not in the town meaning we instantly break the routine most are accustom to.

All guests on board will sign up to Tiffers The Bus Shelter Ipswich contract of expectations and be willing to accept the help on offer to them, |Engage with existing outreach organisations, except volunteer work when we think they are ready and help with bus housekeeping.

Our aim is to break the cycle and routine of homelessness and allow rough sleepers the chance to regain their dignity and place in society by providing a much needed safe, secure and warm place to stay, where they can access the support they require to move on. We will be working closely with all the existing organisations to ensure a seamless service.

The bus itself has been converted to include sleeping pods for up to 14 rough sleepers, Shower room with also a toilet and basin upstairs

There is a wood burner and kitchen/lounge area and seating area for services to engage and support with rough sleepers on the bus during the day. The solar panels on roof ensure that the bus can remain mobile and work just about anywhere it stops.

Each sleeping pod has its own curtain for privacy and low voltage LED lighting and USB plug.

The conversion has taken us about 5 months to complete and is ready for service. We are currently waiting on the final pieces of safeguarding and training to come through so we can do all we can to ensure every bodies safety whilst on the bus.

The bus will be run by volunteers initially and we welcome your support in any way.
