    Story

I have set up this page to help support Lindsey, Claire and their families during this devastating time. Like many of you I have known Lindsey all of my life and many will know that she is all about her family, I have spoken to her throughout her treatment and can honestly say that through all of this even though she is the one fighting her only concerns are for her loved ones. Knowing Lindsey as I do, I can tell you she is an independent self less person who would do anything for anyone but would never ask for help herself if she needed it.

Since being diagnosed Lindsey has been unable to work therefore as a result her family has and continues to struggle financially, she will not ask for help so I will on her behalf.

A little bit about Lindsey's story....

Lindsey is 34 years old born Wednesday 06th June 1984, she has a partner and is a parent and has a family of her own, she is also a daughter sister aunty and much loved friend to many. In December 2017 after a routine smear test, Lindsey was given the devastating blow that her tests had revealed she had cervical cancer, not only was she told this she also found it was at its worst stage, stage 4b it was revealed the cancer had also spread to her womb and her bladder, Lindsey knew she would have a fight on her hands. Lindsey was due to start treatment January 15th 2018 but due to where the tumour had grown and where it was situated it had been putting pressure on her kidneys causing them to fail this resulted in her chemotherapy being temporarily cancelled. Lindsey had to have bags inserted in to her Kidneys to drain them (which she still has in place today) and help them function properly. Shortly after Lindsey endured chemotherapy and radiotherapy to shrink the tumour, after the initial treatment Lindsey had the results that everyone had been praying for, the tumour was no longer measurable and it seemed the treatment was working. Unfortunately 4 short days after her good news a letter arrived stating abnormalities had been detected in her lymph nodes and she was sent for a PET scan. Last week Lindsey received a letter to attend an appointment to discuss the results, Lindsey was advised to take someone along with her, at this time she knew it wasn't good news. The results were returned yesterday 18th October 2018 10 months from her first diagnosis although Lindsey knew after the letter arrived last week that the prognosis wasn't going to be good no one was prepared for the outcome. Lindsay was given the news that the primary cancer had broken off after radiotherapy treatment and had now spread through her body, the type of cancer she now faces is called Metastatic cancer, and she has been told it is terminal. There is no cure without treatment Lindsey has been told she has months to 1 year to live, with treatment up to 2 years it is an aggressive form of cancer, which she has in numerous parts of her body. Lindsey will soon have a stent inserted into her kidney to open it up and hopefully improve its function to enable her to have more treatment to prolong her young life. Lindsey requires 2 forms of chemotherapy to hopefully keep the cancer at bay.

The purposes of this page is to raise as much money as possible to help financially support Lindsey, Claire and their family during this devastating time. Lindsey Claire and their families are also looking into alternative treatments, which may be funded by this page.

I appreciate each and everyone of you for taking the time to read, share and more importantly donate towards supporting this cause.

From the bottom of my heart and the hearts of her loved ones, thank you every penny will help!!

    Gemma xx
