Weʼve raised £1,820 to Help some of the 13 Million human beings displaced by the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Syria.

    Bristol, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 1st November 2017

    Story

With the conflict in Syria now in its seventh year, over 13 million people are in need of help.

More than 6.3 million people have fled their homes because of fighting. Another 4.9 million now live as refugees in neighbouring countries and beyond. They need our help now more than ever.

From 8am on the 16th October until 8am on the 23rd October, I will live solely on the same weekly emergency food rations that a displaced person in Syria can expect to receive.

    That ration looks like this:

    Rice 1920g

    Plain flour 400g

    Lentils 170g

    Chick Peas 85g

    Tinned Sardines 125g

    Kidney Beans 400g

    Vegetable Oil 300ml

This is an extremely small amount of food, and for someone who knows his way around a KFC bargain bucket, its going to be an extremely difficult and demanding experience.

I've set up special Facebook and Instagram accounts and i'll be doing daily updates so you can see how i'm' getting on.

In addition the the tiny basic ration, i will have the opportunity to earn very small amount of extra food for completing the challenges as laid out below.

Raise £500 - earn a vegetable of my choice up to 170g

    Raise £1000- earn 50g Sugar

Raise £1500 - earn 120g of protein (an egg, or chicken)

Raise £2000 - earn a hot or cold drink up to 330ml

Per 100 Facebook friends for my appeal page - 50p to spend as i want

Per 10 Instagram photo likes - 1g of Nuts

It also should be noted, that despite sticking to this small amount of food, I will still have as much clean drinking water as I like. That's far more than any refugee living in a Jordanian refugee camp has. So whilst it will be tough, it will not be remotely comparable to what refugees have to go through every single day, usually for many years. So please dig deep and donate!

All the money i raise will be evenly split between 3 amazing charities embarked on direct activities on the ground in Syria and camps in bordering countries.

War Child, The World Food Programme and Islamic Relief.

Shelling, airstrikes and ongoing violence are taking a devastating toll on children and families in Syria. Thousands have been killed or injured. More than 11 million people have now been forced from their homes. More than a million are still trapped in besieged areas.
