Story
For my wonderful Uncle Garry, who sadly passed away on 4th August 2018. I am writing this on behalf of his devastated family, who are grieving the loss of their beloved Husband, Dad and Grandad.
Tragically, a few days ago we lost the most amazing, kind-hearted, generous and loving man anyone could ever wish to meet. Garry Jones, aged just 44, passed away due to a sudden fatal heart attack - despite the heroic and very best efforts of his family to revive him.
He had taken his family on a day trip to the seaside, to surprise his Mum and Dad who were there on holiday. He was in high spirits and looking forward to a day out with his loved ones. Shortly after arriving, this awful thing happened and for all of us that loved him, life will never be the same.
When I think about my Uncle Garry, I am just overwhelmed by how one person could be so caring and well loved. If you met him once, you’d have a friend for life. He was genuinely just the nicest man I’ve ever known. I will always remember him with engine oil on his clothes, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. I loved the way he would pop out from under the bonnet of a car and say “Hey up Gorgeouses” – he had a special name for everybody. I’m going to miss you so much Uncle Garry.
He was such a hard working man and was always doing something for somebody else - whether it was mending a car for somebody, helping a friend move house, giving someone a lift here or there, looking after his gorgeous grandsons – he’d do literally anything for anyone, all you had to do was ask. Nothing was too much trouble for Uncle Garry. He will inspire me every day to work hard and be a kinder person. Uncle Garry was a real family man, a perfect example of what a Dad should be and a totally devoted husband. I have never seen two people more in love than my Auntie Jo and Uncle Garry. They are all understandably, completely heartbroken.
It is an unbelievably difficult time for the family and I know lots of people will want to help but don’t know how. Let’s show Auntie Jo, Josh, Gemma, Adam, Matthew and the rest of his family how much Garry really meant to us all, by donating money for his funeral. I hope we can raise enough to give him the send off he truly deserves.
Night night, sleep tight Uncle Garry. xx
Love always, Lizzie
