Story
Garstang Community First Responders are volunteers for the North West Ambulance Service. We cover all the rural areas around Garstang from Knott End to Galgate, from Broughton to Bleasdale we're there to help. We are trained in emergency lifesaving treatment and respond to 999 calls.
As Garstang is a rural area, so ambulances are often further away than our First Responders, we can get to the patient a few minutes earlier. That can make the difference between a patient surviving or not, the chance of survival from a cardiac arrest decreases by 10% for every minute.
We raise money to purchase our own kit, including a defibrillator, kit bags and clothing, and to keep our team car running!
Our team car allows our responders to be seen when travelling (we don't use blue lights) and when on scene to be visible.
This year we are asking for support to cover the ongoing costs of the team car, any help is appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
