Hi, im Garry, i member of LuckyDuckyComps, we are a small business in the north east of england south shields. Im raising £10,000 for a local community charity, Hebburn Helps and SSAFA armed forced charity, by walking from London UK to Jarrow North East England. This will take me 10 days to complete. It is the 90th Anniversary of the Jarrow March this year! What better time to do it!

It will be grueling, tiring BUT WORTH IT!!!

About the charities,

Hebburn Helps is in heavy need of assistance! Its a volunteer-run community food bank and crisis response team based in St John's Precinct, Hebburn, Tyne and Wear. Founded in 2015 by Jo Durkin and Angie Comerford, it provides food parcels, clothing, baby equipment, and household items to local families and individuals experiencing financial hardship. The amount of people using this service is overwhelming!

Mission: Supporting vulnerable residents in the Hebburn and Jarrow area.

Services: Beyond food, they offer school holiday lunches, Christmas toy appeals, and support networks.

Operation: They rely solely on public donations and support, partnering with FareShare North East to provide food.

Hours: Generally open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 2 pm.

The organisation works closely with local schools and authorities to help those in need. I am taking it upon myself to do the best I can in this Walk in order to raise as much money as possible!

SSAFA

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is the UK's oldest national tri-service military charity, founded in 1885 to provide lifelong, personalized support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Operating through a network of 7,000+ volunteers, they offer financial, practical, and emotional assistance.

When I left the military I was left with nothing!!!! Ssafa, gave me all the assistance I needed to make life and living easier!

Support Services: Provides welfare advice, financial assistance, housing support, and mental health assistance (including bereavement and stress support).

Target Audience: Serves the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and Royal Air Force, including regulars, reserves, and their families.
