Story
Not long ago whilst at work Jason and i met two dogs by the name of Brin and Trinni. Naturally we made a fuss of them I mean who doesn't greet dogs in the street, at first glance just your average dogs being walked down the street but an amazing story unfolded. It turns out that they were rescue dogs from wartorn countries, brin especially touched us and brought to our attention what many dogs struggle with daily around the world. If like me you've never given this much thought here is brins story. Whilst on patrol in Afghanistan brin a stray dog took it upon his self to alert 2 soldiers to the danger that lied ahead of them in the form of an explosive device that would have taken there lives. By continuous barking at a pile of rubble it was clear he was trying to tell them something, a truly amazing feat from an animal with no training! From then on Brin was adopted into the soldiers lives one especially and a bond was formed, Brin now part of the team went on various dangerous patrols with the army and was even kidnapped by the Taliban who believed he was a trained SAS dog. Amazingly a successful rescue mission was undertaken by the Afghan SS and returned Brin to the army. But his story doesn't stop here after hearing about this Sally Baldwin from east Sussex was so touched by this she decided to launch a campaign to save brin and raised £4000 pounds to get brin to the UK and pay for quarantine before giving him the life he deserves in her own home. Think of how many other animals just like brin are suffering unnoticed. Immediately after learning of this story Jason and I have decided to hold a fundraising event which will be a bike ride from eastbourne pier to the spinnaker tower in Portsmouth on saturday 5th august and is 65 miles total. The charity we will be fundraising for is WAR PAWS and is headed by Sally herself.
The money raised will be used as follows
Provide a mobile clinic
Mass immunilistaion
TNR scheme
Design and promote educational programmes
