I've raised £2000 to support my local amateur dramatic society, Monklands Light Opera (MLO)

On Saturday 5th October 2024, I will be taking part in an ultra-marathon race where I will run from Glasgow to Edinburgh, which is a distance of 56 miles. The race starts 6am sharp at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow and finishes at the Edinburgh Athletics Track. This is in order to raise funds to support my local drama group, Monklands Light Opera (MLO).
As a theatre group, MLO proudly embraces a welcome to all approach for our members, with many members being neuro-divergent and who live with autism, ADHD or depression. Fundraising is a key part of all local community groups and allows us to continue supporting people who wish to stretch their personal or social skills in a safe and vibrant environment. Fundraising could also support with production costs which grow each year due to increasing prices, which then impacts our ability to highlight our club to the local community with each annual production costing between £15k - £20k.
By creating a space for people from all walks of life to participate both on and off the stage in all aspects of musical theatre, we provide a much loved and valued service for the community. We do however need your help to continue to offer this opportunity and expand our reach to more people. As mentioned above, our welcome to all approach for our members allows people from all kinds of work, life and abilities to embrace their passion for the theatre.
Please then donate what you can for a local group that helps many in the community.
