On July 23rd, our good friend, Steve White, saw his life change forever; despite being fit and healthy and having no warning symptoms, on that day he suffered 3 siezures and a collapsed lung before being rushed to hospital; he learned later that he had developed a brain tumour around the size of a golf ball, subsequently diagnosed as a Glioblastoma (GBM), which is often referred to as “The Terminator” due to its aggressive nature and resistance to current NHS medical treatment. The median survival rate is between six to 18 months from initial diagnosis.

To improve Steve's prognosis he and his family have researched various treatments options, including immunotherapy, which has returned encouraging results amongst other patients with his condition. The problem is that this treatment is not funded on the NHS.....and costs around £200k.

Although Steve and his family are putting all their own finances into his treatment, they need support to raise this money and that's where this challenge comes in.

On 15th July 2017, we will be competing in the "Man v Lakes" challenge, a marathon distance (26.2 mile) off-road run through the lake district; described as being the toughest and most challenging marathon in the UK, this will really test us and hopefully raise as much money for Steve as possible.
