It has become apparent with time that our beloved NHS is slowly disappearing and with it, the necessary funding needed for everyone to benefit sufficiently from it. Whilst the NHS is a great benefit in providing a basic wheelchair or equipment, sometimes it cannot cater for specific needs to allow for complete independence. Freedom for Wheels is a new born charity which aims to aid disabled persons with their wheelchair and equipment funding needs when there is need for something more bespoke.

As a team we are going to do a 100km trek across the Sahara desert and be the first to cross it with a wheelchair bound member. This trek is not only to raise awareness for the charity but also to inspire those others who are disabled to do something adventurous and to see that, with the right equipment and determination, even the impossible can be achieved.
