Story
We’ve signed up to take part in Withernsea mayor Kristina Richardson’s Firewalk on Friday, November 6.
The Gazette team – Sam, Zoe, John and Sally – will be among those walking barefoot across hot coals as part of the Coastal Community Safety Event.
It sounded like a good idea when we agreed to it...
The serious side of it, though, is that the money raised will go towards installing throw lines along Withernsea promenade.
Kristina set up the Coastal Community Safety initiative during her year as mayor to support projects that can make a practical difference in the town, and this is one of them.
There is no minimum amount we have to raise, so we’re simply hoping people will give whatever they can.
Every donation will go towards the wider fundraising effort for the throw lines and, hopefully, help provide something that could one day save a life.
All money raised through this page, after any JustGiving processing fees, will be passed to the Mayor’s Coastal Community Safety initiative for the project.
Thanks very much for supporting us.
And if nothing else, you’ll get to enjoy seeing four members of the Gazette team willingly walk over hot coals.
