Help Keep Glossopdale’s Defibrillators Running – and Growing
Over the past few years, our small team of volunteers has raised almost £70,000 and installed around 50 community defibrillators across Glossopdale. Each one has the power to save a life — and thanks to your support, many already have.
But while our mission started with getting defibs on walls, the challenge now is keeping them there.
Every defibrillator costs around £500 every three years to maintain. That covers new pads, batteries, replacement parts and cabinet repairs. With 50 defibs in place, that means we’re facing around £25,000 every three years — or over £8,000 every single year — just to keep the current network running safely.
We cover:
💛 Quarterly inspections
💛 Equipment replenishment and replacement
💛 Installation at our own expense
💛 Registering and updating codes with the ambulance service for emergency access
And we’re not stopping there — we have many more defibrillators still to install across Glossopdale to ensure no community is left without access in an emergency.
