Freddie - coping with autism

Freddie is my nephew. Freddie is 9 years old and is a real joy to our family. He was diagnosed with autism, dyspraxia and attention deficit disorder at the age 4. Over the years they have had some support from outside organisations but the biggest support to Freddie is his school, Fairfield Academy School. Within the school they have a unit called 'Foxes', there the children can go for help to cope with school life. For Freddie school is a confusing place, the noises are amplified, the children move and talk in a way he doesn't always understand and classes can feel intense to him. Foxes is a haven for him to go to too 'reset', talk about what he is feeling and to understand why this may be happening. To achieve this, the teaching staff use role play and social stories to explain feelings and situations where words are often confusing. They use figures like Playmoble to act out, so the school would like to use the money raised to purchase items to assist with theses social stories.

Freddie's fight for life

Freddy is a cheeky 4 year old boy from Bridgwater, but has an extremely rare & life threatening heart condition. At 4 months old Freddy had an out of hospital cardiac arrest. We were told that there was only a 6-8% chance that he would survive. If he did survive we were told he wouldn't be the child we knew.

But miracles happen and Freddy survived. Freddy is now 4, but still battling this horrid condition.

Freddy was diagnosed with a cardiac tumour- a Fibroma in his left ventricle. The tumour is massive, 5 cm by 3.5cm. In order to survive he needs to get to Boston Children's Hospital in the USA for life saving heart surgery.  The is at a cost of £100,000.

Please give generously as your money will make such a difference.
