Forge ABC, ran from Forge Fitness is Rainhill’s first amateur boxing club. It’s increasingly busy with a high number of children who come to the classes.

Since the Eriksen collapse at the Euros it’s been weighing on my mind that it could happen to any one at any time and with the increase in popularity of kids classes I believe it is vital we have a defib on site should the worst happen.

Every minute that passes without one reduces your chances by 10%.

SO…..

I’m organising a sponsored walk up snowdon. All proceeds to go to getting a defib for the gym. I have done some research and I think we are looking at between £900-£1100 for one that is a) suitable for kids and b) provides feedback on chest compressions (what’s the point if not doing it properly? 🤷🏻‍♀️).

DATE: Saturday 4th September

ROUTE: Llanberis path

TIME: 6am leave for an 8am start. That gives us plenty of time to get up the damn thing, down the damn thing and a pint at the bottom.

It’s not a race of the fittest to the top - we do it as a team.

Currently I’ve got 30 people confirmed including our very own gym mascot - Dolly the guide dog.

Anything surplus will go back into the boxing club so we can ensure we have the best facilities.
