Story
Our eldest son Cieran was born healthy on 24th May 2005. He was a happy wonderful baby until just a week after starting walking he was struck down with Meningoccocal Septicaemia. He was seriously poorly and we faced the devastating news our 13 month old wouldn't make it through the night. Cieran being Cieran and the brave, determined boy he is defied all the odds and survived, but at the cost of losing both legs mid-shin and almost all finger tips.
Cieran is now 11yrs old and has just started high school. He still faces major surgeries reconstructing damaged bones in his legs and arms, plus replacing adult teeth which never formed, attachment disorder and ADHD.
We have two other children, Layla-Eve who is 8 and Gabriel who is 3. At 2 weeks old we found out Gabriel had the life limiting condition Cystic Fibrosis which broke our hearts all over again. He visits his CF team every two months and he has had 3 hospital admissions for IV treatments of 2-3 weeks also. With Cieran and Gabriel's extensive needs and constant trips to hospitals for both boys, life is chaotic and tough going.
Cieran and Gabriel have shared a bedroom for the last 3 years, however we are at a stage where it is not feasible. Gabriel requires physio and medication through the night, he is a restless sleeper which affects Cieran's sleep and in turn affects his behaviour the following day. We require space in Gabriel's room for a physio table and storage of medications.
With all these needs in mind we applied for a Disabled Facilities Grant to allow us to add an extension to our home, providing Cieran with a ground floor bedroom and wet room, and in turn giving Gabriel his own room. The Grant came through along with the quote for all works, and after the Grant of £30,000 we are left with £9361.82 to find ourselves. 'Apply to DIY SOS' we hear you say?! We can't as we don't own our property is belongs to the council, who are contributing nothing to the works!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you help?

8 years ago£90 already thank you so much. We are currently in touch with our local MP for support on this matter. Today I had the confirmation through on the shortfall we need to find. Why do things always sound more when on paper?! If anyone can do fundraisers at work to help it would be appreciated. We are unable to hold any more fundraisers till the New Year, as Cieran is having major surgery on 1st December, so we will be at Alder Hey for a few weeks then at home helping him recover ready for new prosthetic limbs x
