Story
Hello! On the 7th October I’ll be running an 23miles in the Gower to raise money for Shadows Depression Support Group. I’ve never been a good runner so this is a big challenge for me but it’s for a worthwhile cause.
Shadows have completely changed and saved my life. When the NHS refused to help and other charities stopped supporting me due to COVID, Shadows were there. They’ve taught me skills and provided me and many others with a safe space to talk or just listen. They fought for me to get support from the NHS which is the only reason I currently receive DBT (therapy) and have a mental health nurse. Without Louise, Jennifer and everyone in group I’d still be stuck in that black hole and my life would’ve taken a very different path, I’m so very grateful it didn’t.
Shadows are located in Garnant, Ammanford and they need to raise £20,000 by next year to keep their building. This building provides such an important safe space for so many, it would be a huge loss to the community if Shadows were to lose their building. I know times are tough for many right now, Shadows are always there when we need them but right now they need our help. Please help me raise money for this amazing charity by giving whatever you can afford.
And remember if you’re struggling, ask for help. Things can and will get better. Thank you for any donations, it’s greatly appreciated.
