Story
As a parent it was heartbreaking to read the damning report about Worcestershire County Councils SEND department. As parents we know this failure has had, the most devastating effect on OUR children and so on our families as a whole. No continuty of education, social care, medical assessments has been happening for years in Worcestershire. There is a massive community of Parents, Carers & Professionals across Education, Health & Social Care in Worcestershire who want to make a real difference for our children and change what happens next! What inspired me to become involved in The Generation Can Awards is that community coming together to MAKE a difference, to try and bring together all these areras that care for our children to celebrate their achievements. Please join me to help The Generation Can Awards make that difference and show what an amazing communityis out there surviving intead of thriving!!! The Generation CAN Awards are local awards to celebrate the remarkable achievements of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the adults who support them. Funds raised will enable us to make a night to remember for all our winners and their guests while highlighting and celebrating their individual stories.
In our children's awards categories, nominees have been put forward by education, health and social care professionals involved with the child, the winners will be those who have made inspiring progress for them which is perhaps life-changing, as well as encouraging for others.
In our adults' awards categories, we want to recognise and celebrate the tremendous efforts and determination by professionals and parents who provide inspirational support and care for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Our intention is to celebrate, encourage and empower people, whatever their age, to continue to stand up for the beauty and value of diversity.
This year, the awards will take place at The Worcester Arena on Thursday 12th July 2018 at 7pm.
