Story

George Ahearn is a young and dedicated Jiu-Jitsu athlete with a bright future ahead of him. Coming from a humble background, George has shown incredible talent, discipline, and passion at such a young age, and he is already proving he has what it takes to achieve great things in the sport.

In 2026, George has the opportunity to compete on some of the biggest stages in the world, including:

- IBJJF European Championship – January 15th–24th, 2026 in Portugal

- IBJJF Europeans No Gi in Rome, Italy

- IBJJF Worlds in California, USA

These competitions are life-changing opportunities, but they also come with a high cost. Each trip can exceed £1,000, once you factor in flights, accommodation, training, food, and other essentials. Despite this, everyone who trains with George knows he is destined for great things both on and off the mat.

Here’s what George had to say about his journey:

“My biggest motivation in the sport is helping others learn and build their Jiu-Jitsu brains, as well as working toward achieving my black belt. Competitions mean a lot to me, they help me build my name, meet new people, and prepare for future students. My cousin first got me into the sport when I was 13. I was a bit chunky back then, and Jiu-Jitsu really helped me get my mind back in the right place. Ever since then, I’ve fallen in love with the sport. It means the world to me - I just want to do Jiu-Jitsu forever.”

George’s coach, Keith McKenzie also shared:

“George is one of the hardest-working athletes I’ve ever coached, and I’ve honestly never seen natural talent like his at such a young age. His dedication on and off the mat sets an example to everyone around him. Supporting him in these competitions isn’t just an investment in his career - it’s an investment in the future of the sport.”

Any donations to support George are welcome - big or small. Let’s help give George the chance he deserves with how hard he works on and off the mat 🙏
