Story
I am running the Brighton Marathon on 12th April 2026 to raise money for Adam’s Light, a charity close to my heart.
Having lost my friend Adam to suicide so unexpectedly, I know first hand how much my friends and I would have benefitted from a charity offering this knowledge and support.
Adam was 19, full of life, laughter, and love. He was the kind of person who lit up every room, the one we all turned to. The last person you'd imagine we'd lose to suicide.
But in 2011, without any warning signs, Adam took his own life.
In his memory, Adam's Light has been created. A charity dedicated to preventing suicide in young people under 30.
Founded by his mum, Lauren, after 13 years of counselling other bereaved families and speaking at various events, the charity will shine a light where silence too often lives.
Through powerful talks, honest conversations, and education in schools and communities, Adam's Light helps young people feel seen, supported, and never alone.
Every donation helps Adam's light to shine a light on suicide prevention, bringing hope to those who need it most.
All donations are very much appreciated.
Thank you,
George
