Born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus George is paraplegic, meaning he is paralysed from the waist down. George has never let this hold him back in life and has applied himself to his one true passion; Wheelchair Basketball. George has been playing Wheelchair Basketball for 26 years, he was 6 years old when he started and it sparked his love for the sport. George not only plays for the Causeway Giants Wheelchair Basketball Club but also is their head coach, George plays for the Northern Ireland Academy Wheelchair Basketball Team and is currently in the preparation phase for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. At the last game day George’s current sports chair suffered greatly and is irreparable, George‘s current sports chair is over 10 years old and whilst its an excellent model it has seen it’s time on court. In order for George to continue as a semi-professional player he needs a new chair, in order for George to continue playing in general he needs a new chair. We aim to fundraise £7000 to purchase a RGK Elite X sports wheelchair to upgrade and replace his current chair which is being held together by sheer hope.
