Story
We did it!! 78 miles in 3.5 days (we did the first 22 miles in early July with our parents which completes the 100 mile South Downs way ). It took us an extra half day as we were feeling the pace towards the end. We will update this page with feedback from the charities once the money has been sent. Any last donations are welcomed.
Harry and I will be completing the South Downs Way from Sunday 31st July to 2/3rd August. In June we completed the first 22 miles with our parents, getting up to speed with map reading, kit selection, load carrying, camping and related field craft. We plan to complete the remaining 78 miles unsupported within 3 days at the end of July. That's 26 miles per day, carrying all our water, food and camping kit.
We wish to raise money for three charities and will split what we raise equally. A junior school in Boa Vista, Cape Verde called Felicidade, which I visited in April and where they have really tough conditions and for the Royal Marines Cadets as both Harry and I are interested in joining up and think this is a very worthy cause. Prostrate Cancer UK is also a very worthy cause that has affected both our families.
Thank you for your support which will help drive us on when it gets tough.
