For over 30 years George Collins has been stationed on Ramsholt Quay, in his boat Red Cap, which was his shelter and office, as Harbour Master for Ramsholt on the River Deben. He is a much loved and respected member of the community with many friends from near and far who he has welcomed, assisted and looked after over the years.

On Sunday 8th September 2019 a fire broke out onboard Red Cap whilst George and twin brother Bill were making tea. Thankfully George and Bill were rescued from the boat minutes before the blaze took hold and were not harmed. However the devastating impact of the fire meant that George lost his boat and all of the contents.

Since the fire we have had an outpouring of support from all who know George and Bill asking what they need and how to help. So we decided to set up this Just Giving page for those who would like to help raise funds for George to replace his possessions and office. Your kind support is much appreciated, thank you.
