Story

In May 2018 Georgy Capener was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma at just 8 years old. Since his diagnosis he has undergone 12 rounds of chemotherapy, 5 and a half weeks of radiotherapy and more recently limb sparing surgery that involved taking away his entire humerus bone and elbow in his right arm which was replaced with a prosthetic titanium rod. During this time Georgy has spent a long time travelling between Manchester Childrens Hospital and Birmingham Hospital where they specialise in bone tumours. From the minute Georgy was diagnosed we have had tremendous support from a charity called Clic Sergent. Not only have they helped us to manage our finances due to me giving up my job as a self employed worker but they have always supported us emotionally. Our amazing key worker Freya has spent lots of her time at Georgy’s bedside and has been a breath of fresh air to us, when times have been hard she has really cheered us up!! Freya has even sorted Georgy some lovely treats along the way, his most favourite one being a gaming PC. As a parent, all we ever want to see is our children happy and Clic Sergent have made my boy happy during the worst time of our lives.

Georgys uncle has very kindly said he would like to raise some money to be split equally between Georgy and Clic Sergent and has decided that between the 1st and 31st of January he is going to run 15K a day totalling 465k which is the distance from his home to Manchester Childrens Hospital then to Birmingham and back home, so he can be on Georgys journey with him. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, even just a couple of pounds would help Georgy reach his goal to having a lovely holiday when his treatment ends and would help Clic Sergent to help another poorly child in a similar situation.Chris (Georgys uncle) has already started his quest and will be documenting each day how far he has travelled on here and is already keeping to his target.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this and any small donation will be greatly appreciated :) xxx
