Story

We are fundraising in the Parish of Temple Guiting ("TG") in respect of the “There But Not There” campaign to mark the centenary celebrations to mark the end of WW1 on 11 November 1918.

The There But Not There Campaign is an umbrella Charity commemorating the Armistice at the end of WW1 in the same way that the sea of Poppies in 2014 at the Tower of London and elsewhere commemorated the start of WW1.

The 6 Charities which benefit are:

i) The Royal Foundation

ii) Walking With The Wounded

iii) Combat Stress

iv) Help for Heroes

v) Project Equinox: Housing Veterans and Medical Students

vi) Commonwealth War Graves Foundation

The aim of the TG grouping is to buy at least 2 x 6’ Tommys (at £750.00 each

The local campaign is being organised under the umbrella of the Upper Windrush Local History Society (“UWLHS”) who are an established community organisation with a constitution and a community space.

We are involving the TG School, the local churches in both TG and Guiting Power as well as many others in both parishes
