Story
A Team of 5 of us from Gerald Thomas Chartered Accountants will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 1st October 2017. Please help us raise money for two local charities that carry out a lot of good work in the area.
Faith in Families is a local charity that makes a differences to children and families. Combating summer hunger and isolation this year they have fed thousands of children with hot meals and provided fun, laughter and activities so that everyone gets to enjoy the holidays. During the term they provide homework clubs, baby groups, playgroups and numerous other services, in safe, secure, warm surroundings. Advice, counselling, training opportunities, volunteering and food banks are provided to support families that are struggling.
Age Connects Morgannwg is the operating title of Age Concern Morgannwg, a charity for older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil. They are about older people getting the help they want, when they want it. The charity works to ensure that those who are vulnerable and at risk are kept safe. They empower older people to be heard, to have choice and control, so they don’t feel isolated or discriminated against and that they receive the support and services they need. Their work is driven by what older people say matters most to them and their voices are at the heart of all that the charity does.
