Story
In memory of Gerry Duhig, we would like to raise money for the charities who helped not only the family after his head injury, but also gave Gerry a new lease on life the last few years.
Headway Gloucestershire is a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury. We provide essential services across Gloucestershire for people with acquired brain injuries, their partners, families, friends and carers.
Minchinhampton RDA - At Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), our horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults. With fun activities like riding and carriage driving, we provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement – all supported by 18,000 amazing volunteers and qualified coaches at nearly 500 RDA centres all over the UK.
The Men’s Shed at Nailsworth Community Workshop welcomes men and women of all ages, backgrounds and ability who enjoy practical work and like to make things in a busy, friendly environment.
Cotswold Boat Mobility - We offer an opportunity for people who may have mobility or learning disability issues, the elderly and the disadvantaged to get out close to the water and participate in the fun. We also have experience of disability issues and want to create an opportunity for all to participate in water based activities on our newly restored canal.
Gerry thoroughly enjoyed his days riding with Minchinhampton RDA, katakanuing with Cotswold Boat Mobility and making all sorts of woodwork at the Mens Shed. We would like to give a huge thank you to these charities who allowed Gerry to continue living a life full of fun, adventure and good times!
