Gertrude Akwetey (Trudy), our beloved mother, sister, cousin, daughter and friend passed away on the 12th of June 2017 at the tender age of 34, leaving behind three young children.

Gertrude gave birth on the 30th of May to a beautiful baby girl. The family were filled with joy of the new arrival and addition to the family.

However a few days after giving birth Gertrude began to feel great discomfort and returned to hospital. The short time our Gertrude was in hospital her condition began to deteriorate rapidly with doctors unable to identify the cause. After just over a week the hospital they decided to operate on her to address the potential issue. Shortly into the operation, due to complications things took a sudden turn for the worse.

Unfortunately on Monday 12th June Gertrude passed away during the procedure.

This sudden passing has been a huge blow to the family leaving behind an 11 year old an 18 month old and a 2 week old baby.

These young kids have lost their pillar, their nurturer and their mother.

We have set this page up in honour of her and to provide a platform for us all to support the Akwetey family. This page will continue to remain active and we implore you all to continue to contribute to the page to support to the future of the children.

The life of the party, a real rock to the family and her friends, Gertrude will be dearly missed.

All proceeds will go directly to the family to assist them financially and to support the future of these children.
