Story
In 2012 Jona was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome leaving him paralysed from the waist upward. He was told he would never be able to play the violin again. However, due to his determination and a true miracle, he regained strength in his arms and therefore was able to pursue his passion once again.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jona in 2015 when I lived in Mexico last year and he and his family were kind enough to offer me a place to stay. He is a very gifted musician and has always dreamt of coming to Europe to play the violin. The opportunity to do so in Mexico is rare, given there is very limited support. This makes achieving such a dream almost impossible.
This year, Jona, along with the Chamber orchestra in Puebla, Mexico, has been invited to come to Germany to play the violin in various concerts there. He is also hoping to come to the UK to live with our family and volunteer here. We are using this page to ask anyone to help us make Jona's dream of coming to Europe possible.
If you are able to donate, these funds will go towards his flights (first to Germany and then to the UK) and also the fees for the visa required to give him the opportunity to volunteer here in the UK. Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and read Jona's story. Your support is so appreciated - THANK YOU!
