Why We’re Doing This
This year, on 15.08.26 at Seaview Stadium, we’re aiming to build on what was our biggest fundraising year yet in 2025.
What started as a fun five-a-side to get everyone together and keep in touch has grown into something really special. Since starting the Devlin Cup, we’ve raised nearly £10,000 for local charities, and this year we want to keep that going. The day is all about football, celebrating the GOAT FC community, and supporting the incredible work local charities do every single day.
This year we’re proud to once again support Lighthouse, alongside PIPS, who have been instrumental in helping one of the GOAT FC founders, Callum Craig, get back to a better place after a long battle with his mental health. Their work shows just how important these charities really are.
In the UK and Ireland football world, there’s a heartbreaking statistic — for years, we lost someone to suicide every 90 minutes. Recently, that statistic changed to be closer to every 75 minutes.
For Sean and Callum, that's why GOAT FC — Get Out And Talk — exists. We want people to know it’s okay not to be okay. To talk about the good days and the bad ones too. We want everyone involved in GOAT FC to know they are valued, important, enough as they are and never alone — that there will always be someone here to listen without judgement, be it one of the community, or one of our partner charities.
Let’s have another fantastic match, but more importantly remember why we all come together: for the people we miss, love, and wish we could still talk to — Carrie-Anne and Jamie Devlin.
