Story

My name is Jacob Campbell. I am 21 years old, and have been active in the Scout Association since I was 8 years old.

Earlier this year, at an event at Fordell Firs (Scottish Scout Headquarters), I was selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree at the Bechtel Summit Reserve, West Virginia, in the United States of America, as a Member of the UK Contingent - more specifically, the International Service Team (IST).

My role will be to help ensure that 40,000 Young People, between the ages of 14 and 18, from countries all over the world have an incredible time, make friends from all over the world, and ensure they leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

However, there is a snag; the Jamboree - and the costs associated with it - do cost quite a lot of money. £2,500 to be precise. Quite a lot for a poor student like me to afford on my own!

Thusly, to get to West Virginia, USA, and to help provide this wonderful experience for so many great young people, I'm asking my friends, colleagues, acquaintances, buddies, et al, to donate as much or as little as they can to help get me to America!

In advance, I can't thank you enough for your support. Every donation, every sponsor, gets me one step closer to helping deliver a (very-literal) life-changing experience for 40,000 Young People from every corner of the globe. Thank you.

If you have any questions about my trip to the States, or about how the money will be spent, do not hesitate to get in contact with me!

Yours in Scouting,

Jacob M Campbell
