Story
In March a group of us went to Malawi. We stayed at St Peters House in Mtunthama, Kasungu. A few times a group of us went to the orphanage to either paint, help out or just play games with the kids there.
It was there, we met Mike. Mike has Rickets. As you can see from the pictures, he is always smiling and always happy and doesn’t let his disability get in the way of his enjoyment.
I decided to speak to the Local Hospitals only doctor about how it will have an effect on his later life and if there’s anything I could do to help.
He informed me that there isn’t anything to be done as the hospital cannot perform the correct surgery as they don’t have the facilities necessary to perform the procedure.
However, the hospital in Blantyre (a town a few hours away from Kasungu) can perform the surgery.
But the cost of getting little Mike the help he so deserves isn’t cheap and the orphanage cannot afford it themselves.
That’s why I’ve decided to set up this page. Mike deserves to be able to live a fulfilled and happy life.
If you can spare even just £2 to help. Please do. Once the correct amount has raised I shall make sure the fund reach the correct people and that he gets the surgery as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for all your help.
