We are running the Kirkby 10k to help raise money for our club!

Great Habton CC started back up as a Saturday cricket club in 2008. We began at the bottom of the Scarborough League with just our little pavilion in the corner of the ground and even a small caravan for storage. In 8 seasons we have been promoted 5 times thanks in large part to the great group of players we have at the club.

Whilst the cricket is good, the facilities could certainly do with some TLC. We have made minor improvements to the ground as we have progressed but there is still so much work to do! As the standard increases, more and more is demanded from us as a club. We are looking to raise funds so that we can invest in all sorts of new equipment for the ground that will help us provide more cricket for local players and get the sort of facilities our cracking little club deserves!

We are aiming to achieve promotion to the Scarborough Premier League in the near future. This will require investment in covers and sight screens among other things. To be successful, our club relies on the generosity of local people and the dedication of all at the club, so please help us keep it going!

A 10k run may sound easy for some, but judging by our running skills on a Saturday it may not prove so simple for us Habton lads with our "questionable" levels of fitness. We will be running (or perhaps jogging slowly) on the 30th April. We should be easy to spot - we'll be the ones sweating buckets in our cricket whites. Help spur us on with a donation.
