Weʼve raised £40 to Support refugee families to buy tickets to join the rest of their families in Europw as they have to pay for their travel themselves.

    Story

There are dozens of families stuck in Greece for more than 16 months waiting to be reunified with the rest of their families who have arrived in Europe at least two years ago. There is waiting on both sides. Families are desperate. Now, when a family is offered the opportunity to be reunited, they have to pay for their own travel and the Greek government is forcing them to buy tickets from a specific travel centre which is very expensive. Families have no money to buy 4 or five tickets or ore and many of them wait in vain as there is no chance they would have the money except when individual volunteers like me help them buy the tickets. I have been helping at least 5 families to travel to be reunited and at present there are four families who need to be helped with tickets (the total of tickets needed are 21). I am raising the money to help them as they have no single source of income and the rest of the families who are already in Europe are not able to afford buying several tickets as they are not working yet. Please help these families reunite after a bitter and cruel waiting in terrible harsh conditions in Greece.

I have been going to Greece for 15 times to volunteer to help refugees stranded at the squatted buildings in Athens and other locations. Refugees are living in terrible inhumane conditions. Many live in tents which hardy protect them and a huge number live in unprotected squatted buildings. In one of the buildings there are 7 babies aged between 1-4 months. There are also 2 babies living in camping tents. Refugees are receiving very little help from small NGOs and no governments.
