Story

GIFT 2018 will return to Gateshead for 3 days between 4th - 6th May presenting some of the most exciting artists from across the UK and Europe. GIFT is thrilled to have been successful in securing funding from a range of sources to bring GIFT back again this year, however we are still making it all happen on a very tight budget. In order to support all of the artists who are performing at the festival, we still need to raise an additional £1000 via donations.

So... we are looking to see if we can find 100 people out there who are willing to donate £10 as a #giftforGIFT in the next 2 weeks...Is this you?

Perhaps you can't make it to the festival this year, but would like to offer support in another way; or maybe you have performed at GIFT in the past, and want to make a contribution in order to enable more people, including artists and participants to have the GIFT experience; or maybe you are coming to the festival already and realise the tickets are priced extremely reasonably, and so you are happy to top up the price of your Festival Pass with a donation? Whatever your reason or relationship to the festival, we will be so, so grateful for your support.

If you have never been to GIFT before, then we suggest you watch this short film from GIFT 2017 to see what GIFT is all about, and why it is such an important event for artists and audiences in North East England: GIFT 2017 on Vimeo

GIFT strives to be accessible and affordable, and each year offers a mixed programme of events, some of which are ticketed and many are also free to attend. It is hugely important to GIFT that we are able to maintain this strand of programming, so that the festival remains accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to engage. We are also really keen to develop more Free Events as part of GIFT in the future, and would love to hear your thoughts on this and on how we can make this a reality!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we hope you are able to support us this year. Please also do share with ANYONE who might want to help see GIFT continue to grow, thrive and keep theatre and performance in Gateshead ALIVE!
