A £ gift for Julyan's family, perhaps to fund a special family break together
This page is a place for those who loved Rev Julyan Drew to create a financial gift, in his memory, for his family. A servant leader, made of love, Julyan was so many things to many thousands of us. But he was first and foremost a family man. Our hope is that this gift may help the family with the costs of this last year and perhaps, in time, enable them to plan a special family break, in Julyan’s memory, where all generations can have time to rest and simply be together. However, it will be for them to decide, how to use the gift.
I never knew Julyan to ask for anything for himself, but his main concern these last months was for Liz and the family and he did ask specifically for our prayers for them. We hope this page can also offer one practical way to wrap around them, the deep love of the community.

5 years agoLast week I met with LIz and Jerry and transferred to them, the £2,553.79 that you raised (£2,652 minus the Just Giving fee deductions). The family were very moved and wished to pass on their heartfelt thanks to you all. They are hoping to use the £ to take a break together next year and I feel Julyan would be so pleased to know this. Thank you for making this possible and for your beautiful messages. I printed these out and gave them to the family to look at in a quiet moment. I have now closed this page. God bless you all. Esmé

5 years agoThank you so much, everyone who has given and shared so far. We've reached over £1,4057 - 14% of our target in two days! I really hope we can meet the £10,000 goal and enable, if the family chooses, a special time away for everyone to look forward to - particularly the little ones. It's so moving to read your tributes to Julyan, from Mousehole to Massachussets, Gulval to Grenfell: a beautiful circle of love. Thank you for sharing how he touched your lives. As evidenced today at Paul Church, Julyan touched so many lives in a positive way, I was proud to pay my respects and hope this gift gives Liz and Julyan’s wider family the space to remember him.

Originally from Cornwall, I have worked in business in Europe, in counselling and group facilitation. These last two years, my focus has been entirely on Cornwall Hugs Grenfell, bringing the fire survivors, the bereaved and firefighters for family respite breaks in Cornwall.
