Story
The current shower units were installed in 1998 and are now very out of date. Many of our patients are too ill to access them because the opening is so narrow. LINC is aiming to upgrade the 8 en suite shower rooms to wet rooms that will allow wheelchair access for our severely ill patients. Because of the work involved and the precautions that must be taken to prevent infection it is estimated that each room will cost £20K and with fees and VAT, the total will be at least £200K.
Patients being treated for leukaemia are in hospital for at least one month, often longer. It is essential that adequate shower facilities are available during this time. We would welcome any help you can give.
