🐐 Help Us Keep Our Goats Warm This Winter 🐐

Hensell Goat Rescue Emergency Shelter Appeal

This winter has been one of our hardest yet.

Due to an unusually high number of rescues, we’ve taken in almost double the goats we normally care for at this time of year. While we will never turn away animals in need, the sudden increase has left us struggling for space — just as the weather has turned cold, wet, and muddy.

Right now, ground conditions are appalling. The paddocks are unusable, and although our livestock yard offers some protection, it simply isn’t big enough for everyone. Goats have strong pecking orders, which means many can’t safely share the same area — especially our elderly, weak, and vulnerable residents who need quiet, warm spaces to recover.

We urgently need additional dry, warm accommodation.

Our goal is to raise £2,000 to purchase a 12 x 12 field shelter on skids. This would allow us to:

✅ Provide immediate winter shelter in the farmyard

✅ Safely separate different groups of goats

✅ Protect our most vulnerable rescues

✅ Move the shelter around the farm in summer months
