My name is Gill and for a while now I have used a piece of land to house pigs, chickens, turkeys, geese and horses that I have rescued from various situations. Last Friday a fire broke out on my land decimating the animal housing and destroying almost everything. Fire crews worked hard and managed to save 2 horses, 7 micro pigs (some of these are babies) and a few chickens but we lost 11 of the animals - 6 pigs, all of the turkeys, geese and most of the chickens. The stables, barn, poultry housing and animal trailers were also lost. It had taken my husband and I years to build all the facilities on my land for these animals and in just one day it was wiped out. As the gates that secured the property were also destroyed I am currently having to stay in a caravan, on site, to ensure the well being and safety of the animals as the animals are burnt, suffering smoke inhalation, in shock and easily spooked. It's not about money, I would be grateful for any help. We need wood or pallets so that we can build shelters and housing for these animals. My husband would be willing to pick up any building materials that you would be willing to donate. I have no idea where to turn for help or what to do.
